ASS is very flattered that even Prime Minister wife read our previous article and take precious time out of her busy schedule on FB to post a response to us!
She tell us:
"Don't put words in my mouth, young man!
It's absolutely the right thing to do, to call our people home. We all underestimated the asymptomatic transmission - not just SG, but the world over.
So don't give me the crap about "I told you so" - hindsight is always beautiful and perfect.
To fight this covid, we should expect mistakes, trips and falls."
But Mrs Prime Minister, we never put words in your mouth. You were the one who said that the government is "now paying a price for that call, bcos we underestimated the covid and used a sars lens".
Who made that call? Government. Who is paying the price for it? Singaporeans. So who was the one indirectly assigning blame? Not us.
Then now you try to justify that mistake by saying that it's not only the 4G leadership who made the mistake but the whole world also. Madam, why can't the government admit they make mistake? Why must justify and play down their mistake by dragging the whole world in so to make themselves look less bad?
You are right that to fight covid, we should expect mistakes, trips and falls. So why is the government so scared of admitting that they made a mistake? Is it because they are afraid that it will make them look bad and lose votes at the next general elections? Now is not the time for politics, but to fight this Covid virus, flatten the curve and save lives!
